The Windows image viewer is pretty good, but sometimes it is excessively slow for a simple task like photography viewing. Like many other intergrates tools from this operating system, on certain occasions it doesn't fulfill its task at 100%. That is why small applications like FastStone MaxView are so interensting.

  This small application, stands out because of it ease-of-use and extreme lightness, open any photograph or image, whatever its size, nearly instantly. Even if these files are withing a RAR or ZIP compressed file.

  Among its peculiarities we will find that the image occupies nearly the 100% of the screen, because its menus and buttons have minimized to the maximum with the intention of improving visualization.

  FastStone MaxView is capable of opening the most popular formats like JPEG, JPEG2000, GIF, BMP, PNG, PCX, TIFF, WMF, ICO, CUR or TGA and save in JPEG, JPEG2000, TIFF, GIF, PCX, BMP, PNG and TGA. It also includes support for some types of RAW files.

  Of course, it includes small tools to rotate the image, zoom, see the images data (like the EXIF) and the possibility to see a presentation with all the images, including more than 150 transitional effects.
